Ken Hutchens: 1939 Packard 110 Coupe

Ken Hutchens, Houston, Texas, owns this 1939 Packard 110 coupe which cranks out 575 HP.  Ken has severely de-tuned the car from its original HP rating of just under 1000.  The engine is a 1970 Chevrolet LS6, 461 c.i., 7:1 compression, Dart Merlin rectangular port heads, custom grind Lunati roller cam, Blower Drive Service 871 blower, and Edelbrock carburetors.  Transmission is a Coan Engineering TH400 with Cheetah shifter.  Rear is a 9″ Ford with 3.70 gears and coil over shocks mounted to a “C” clip with four-link adjustable suspension.  Front suspension is Mustang II.  Ken’s coupe has a custom Griffin radiator, Wilwood disc brakes, Ididit steering column, Vintage Air heating and cooling and seats from a Chrysler LHS.  The paint is Chrysler Forest Green pearlcoat-PG8 and the interior paint is 1939 Packard “ivory.”  Ken’s Packard has won numerous awards and appeared on the Don Garlits’ TV show in 2009 and in Flaming River ads and catalogs.
